In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities
The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 65 requests for assistance this past week, Aug. 21-27. The requests were as follows:
Ambulance Assists 0, Animal Control 13, Assist Other Agencies 10, All Escorts 1, Nuisance 1, All Other Requests for Assistance 40, Summons 5.

Animal Control
Anyone interested in adopting animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report
On August 21, 2023, I responded to 200 McCrary Circle apartment number: 39 concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a x-box one, x-box one controller and a cell phone. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 22, 2023, I responded to 3370 East US 54 Highway, Mitchell’s Veterinary Clinic, concerning Animal Neglect and Abandonment. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Emily M. Jones, 28, El Dorado Springs, charging her with Animal Neglect or Abandonment. She was released with summons pending a court appearance.

On August 23, 2023, officers arrested Gordon C. Liveoak, 36, El Dorado Springs, for an active Cedar County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charges of a Traffic Violation with a bond of $250.00 cash only. He was transferred to Cedar County pending bond and a court appearance.

On August 25, 2023, officers responded to 1300 South First Street for a report of a stolen vehicle being at the location. Officers recovered 2017 Kawasaki Mule reported stolen in Cedar County. Officer arrested Brandon Parker, 28, of El Dorado Springs for the Probable Cause of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. Parker was released to a Cedar County Deputy on scene.

On August 26, 2023, officers responded to 316 West Spring in reference to a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a package containing a Playstation 4 game. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On August 27, 2023, officers responded to 120 West Olive in reference to arson. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jerry L. Kelly, 69, El Dorado Springs, for the Probable Cause of Arson 1st degree, Assault 1st degree, Burglary 1st degree, and Armed Criminal Action. A Probable Cause statement has been sent to the Cedar County Prosecuting Attorney.
