The Missouri Department of Conservation and Carl’s Gun Shop will conduct a Hunter Education Course on Oct. 4 and 6 at Carl’s Gun Shop in El Dorado Springs. The class will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, and end at 9 p.m., then start again at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, and continue until 5 p.m. Students must attend both days.

A second Hunter Education course will be held Oct. 12-13 at the VFW Post in Stockton. This course will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, and end at 10 p.m., then start again at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, and run until 3 p.m. Again, students must attend both days.

Those successfully competing the course will receive a Hunter Education Certification Card from the Department of Conservation. Such certification is mandatory before a hunter born after Jan. 1, 1967, may purchase a hunting permit in Missouri and many other states and Canadian Provinces. Certification is limited to those students 11 years of age or older.

Preregistration is required. Go to our web site at www.mdc.mo.gov and click on either the hunting/trapping tab or education tab.
