Saturday, October 5th from 5:30-8:00 p.m. is the 4-H kickoff dinner and silent auction at El Dorado High School Cafeteria.

Met with James McCrary, Sheriff

Discussed Jail list for inmates, we are housing 51 inmates right now.

Discussed metal detectors in Courthouse, cost and where they needed to be placed for security.

Kenny Fields stopped by to discuss culvert on CR1450. Needs replaced with box culvert.

Rick O’Conner came in to thank Commissioners on his road and how good of a job the Road & Bridge had done on it. Could still use some gravel.

Met with Cheryl Marcum

Discussed issue on Senate Bill 391. Discussed local meetings she had been to, what had taken place and who the speakers where there. Also talked about water quality and how important it is.

Met with Shawn Mayr, Connell Insurance

Discussed rates on Health Insurance.

Met with Marty Matters Construction LLC

Discussed Myers Bridge Project. Panels and all equipment should be $1829.00 to rent for a 29 day rental. They will deliver. Wood and steel forms, not aluminum. Will have to rent a vibrator. Will use Ewing Concrete.  Area needs cleaned up first. Discussed this with Road & Bridge Supervisor and they will take care of clean up. Project will start on August 19, 2019.

Received a call concerning a property dispute, commission deferred to Circuit Court as a civil matter.

Tom Lewis came in to visit with Commissioners about FEMA and turning in receipts for the FEMA project.

Called Vita Jones to discuss her issue with neighbors and there sewer issues and broken pipe. She has spoken with Health Department.

Met with Patty Cantrel, West Central

Discussed new Local Any Day website for tourism and events for local businesses.

Met with Marty Matters Construction LLC

Area was cleaned up by Road & Bridge Department and road widened as much as possible for big equipment. Jason Sivils, Great River Engineering will meet with Matters this week to mark off bridge. Project will start on August 19, 2019.

Discussed our CAFO ordinance, preserving our health ordinance & protecting our current regulations.

Motion by Boultinghouse to participate and utilize Jeffrey Law Group as their Representative; seconded by Foster. Foster – Yes, Collins – Yes, Boultinghouse – Yes

Signed agreement to select Jeffrey Law Group for council on filing lawsuit on Senate Bill 391, which takes away any local control. 

Called surrounding County Commissioners to discuss CAFO ordinances.

Discussed Election Results and votes by Precincts.

Commission reviewed Corp of Engineers Lake Patrol Report, Cedar County Health Department monthly reports, and Sheriff’s fund monthly report.

Bills & Payroll were approved.
