ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made 10 arrests and took a property damage report during the week of Oct. 8-15, 2018.

Warrant Arrests

Michael Merriman- On Oct. 15, Michael Merriman, 50, Theodosia, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class A misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia- prior drug offense. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

The arrest comes after a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy on March 2, 2018. During the stop, Merriman gave consent to search the vehicle. During the search, two glass pipes with crystal like residue were found, and tested positive for methamphetamine.

Tamy Lukecart- On Oct. 15, Tamy Lukecart, 41, Lincoln, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court on original charges of a class C felony assault in the second degree-operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in injury, class A misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree-intoxication, class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, class A misdemeanor operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, involving an accident, and an infraction for no seat belt. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

The warrant comes after a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Aug. 13, 2014.

Katherine Patterson- On Oct. 12, Katherine Patterson, 44, Blue Springs was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Patterson was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a concerned citizen called the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office stating there was a vehicle in the middle of the road with no lights on. A deputy was dispatched to the area to try and locate the vehicle. The deputy passed a vehicle matching the description given by the citizen. The deputy followed the vehicle and tried to perform a traffic stop for multiple traffic violations.

The deputy made contact with the driver at the driver’s side window. After making contact, the deputy could smell the strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle. Patterson was asked to perform a sobriety test, which she did, and failed. Patterson was placed under arrest and taken to the St. Clair County Jail for a breath analysis. Patterson was found to have a B.A.C. of .186, more than twice the legal limit.

Clinton Welch- On Oct. 12, Clinton Welch, 58, Kansas City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony stalking in the first degree-second or subsequent offense. Welch was placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

Welch was arrested after a violation of a protection order for an adult.

Clinton Oehring- On Oct. 12, Clinton Oehring, 27, Montrose, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on original charges of a class C felony possession of a controlled substance, class D felony resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony, class A misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, class B misdemeanor failure to register motor vehicle, and an infraction charge for displaying/possessing motor vehicle /trailer plates of another person. Total bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

The original charges stem from an incident on Aug. 16, 2016, when St. Clair County deputies were on patrol on H Highway and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Oehring was driving. When contact was first made with Oehring he identified himself as another individual. During the investigation a clear glass container with residue inside that field tested positive for methamphetamine was located in his possession. While being taken into custody, Oehring fled on foot and was taken into custody after a short chase. A bag with a white crystal like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine was also located in the vehicle. 

Clint Wilkerson Sr.- On Oct. 11, Clint Wilkerson, 46, Richland, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Henry County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor driving while revoked/suspended-second or third offense, an unclassified misdemeanor for no insurance, and an infraction for no seat belt. Total bond is set at $337 cash only.

The original charges stem from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Sept. 13, 2017.

Property Damage in Osceola

On Oct. 13, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to 9335 SE Highway T in reference to some property damage.

Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Jerry Lewis. Lewis stated sometime between, Oct. 12 at 11 p.m. and Oct. 13 at 6 a.m., an unknown person(s) had ran off the road and damaged his mailbox, three hedge posts, one metal T-post, and approximately 50 feet of five strands of barbed wire.

The deputy observed that after striking the mailbox, the vehicle traveled approximately 75 yards until it made contact with a hedge tree, losing the driver’s side mirror. The unknown vehicle was capable of backing up and leaving the scene.

Evidence was collected from the scene and photographs were taken.
