In February DECA members traveled to MSSU in Joplin for the District 10 Career Development Conference (competition). This was a first competition experience for the majority of them. I am extremely proud of the group that attended and happy to announce that five students qualified to compete at the State Career Development Conference at Crown Center in Kansas City on March 24-26, 2019.

The results were as follows:  Taylor Bruce and Abby Hogan, 2nd Place in Financial Literacy Promotion Project; Brayden Housh and Lance Smith, 2nd Place in Sports and Entertainment Team Decision Making; Brayden Housh, 1st Place Retail Merchandising; Lance Smith, 3rd Place Automotive Service Marketing; and Kayla Penn was selected as a Leadership Delegate and will be able to attend both State CDC and ICDC in Orlando, Florida.

Also competing were Michaela Gardner, Principles of Finance; Libby Toliver, Principles of Business Management and Administration; and Riliey Quinlan, Principles of Hospitality and Tourism.
