Talk about icing a team. The Bulldogs were supposed to play Skyline Saturday for the championship of their tournament. Because of the ice storm, that game has been postponed until Wednesday night.

Coach Joel Braden reports on the tournament to date:

The El Dorado Springs Bulldogs entered the Skyline tournament last week as the second seed. The Bulldogs started the tournament with a game against Osceola. El Dorado led for most of the game but struggled in the fourth quarter and Osceola tied the game on a free throw with 0.5 seconds left. In overtime El Dorado took control of the game. Jake Schieffer scored 10 of his team high 18 points in the overtime and the Bulldogs won 68-60. Shane Trowbridge also added 16 points.

The Bulldogs second round opponent was the third seeded Weaubleau Tigers. The Bulldogs trailed the Tigers 21-20 at halftime and 31-23 at the end of three quarters. With the Bulldogs trailing by two in the fourth Riley Boyd was fouled and sent to the free throw line with five seconds left. Boyd made the first but missed the second. Trey Babcock rebounded the ball and was fouled with 0.5 seconds left in the game. Babcock made one of two free throws to send the game into overtime.

Tied at 45 in overtime Boyd was again fouled, this time with 1.5 seconds left in the game. Boyd made both free throws to end with a game high 23 and the Bulldogs won 47-45.

The championship game was postponed due to weather and is rescheduled for 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18. The Bulldogs will play the Skyline Tigers for the championship.
