Right now we are 8-3 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. We are getting some timely hits in games as well as good pitching.
Senior Ty Davis is currently hitting .571, followed by Derek Hayes at .429 and Gaven Morgan at .343.
We have a good pitching staff led by Derek Hayes who in 4 games has 40 strikeouts and an ERA of .969. Ty Davis is next with an ERA of 1.5.
We are really trying to get better at situational hitting, trying to move runners over or get them in when they are in scoring position. So far I am very pleased with how things have gone.
We are young and definitely have areas we need to improve, such as base running. Our goal is a conference championship and district championship and we are working hard to reach that goal.
