On Saturday, the track team competed in the Class 3 District 7 track meet, at Holden.  To move on to the Sectional track meet, held this coming Saturday, athletes had to finish in the top 4 of their event.

This year’s sectional qualifiers are: For the boys, Brendon Parshal who placed 2nd in the 200 and 3rd in the 100. Ethan Parshall and Brayden Housh were 2nd and 3rd in pole vault and Shelby McKinney was 2nd in the Javelin throw.  For the girls, Sarah King, Emily Ring, Leah Rohlin and Ashley Knoll placed 4th in the 4 x 800, with Ashley also finishing 3rd in the 1600 and 1st in the 3200.

Others who placed but don’t move on are as follows:  Shelby McKinney – 6th in discus, Brayden Housh – 5th in Javelin and 7th in the 110 high hurdles. The boys 4 x 200 m. relay consisting of Tanner Witt, Ryan Owens, Cody Rutledge and Brendon Parshall, placed 6th, then Rickey Huff joined up with Tanner, Ryan and Cody to take 6th place in the 4 x 100 m. relay, Leah Rohlin placed 6th in the 400, with Ryan Owens finishing 8th in the boys 400, Taylor Wingert was 6th in the 300 m. hurdles and Sarah King was 5th in the 800 m. run.

Overall, we competed well for the day.  A lot of good performances on the day, resulting in numerous personal bests.

Sectional qualifiers will compete in Odessa on Saturday for the Class 3 Sectional 4 track meet.
