On Thursday, March 23, the Bulldog track team traveled to Butler for their first track meet of the 2017 season.  Weather was windy, but pretty nice temperatures.

The girls competed pretty hard, but due to absences, we only had one girl place.  Ashley Knoll placed 2nd in the 2-mile run with a time of 13:04.  Overall, pleased with the girls efforts and attitude on the day.  They now have the bar set to improve on for the rest of the season.

On the boys side, CJ Sipes place 5th in the shot put, with a throw of 40’ 9”.  Shelby McKinney placed 5th in the javelin and 6th in the discus.  This is the first year that javelin is a scored event in Missouri.  Brendan Parshall placed 6th in the 400 m. dash with a time of 56.7 along with a tie for 4th in the high jump.  Tyler Goatley brought home a pair of wins in the mile and the 2-mile runs.  And last but not least, the 4 x 200 m. relay placed 5th with a time of 1:42.  The 4 x 200 m. relay consisted of Keilan Jacques, Rickey Huff, Brendon Parshall and Chris Reddick.

Overall, both teams put the effort out there.  This week we will be heading to Ash Grove on Friday, March 31, for our next meet, followed by the Lauren Wheeler relays held at Stockton on Tuesday, April 4.
