SILVER SUN SHOWDOWN – Members of Van Dyk’s Karate here in El Dorado Springs traveled to St. Louis to compete in the Silver Sun Showdown a North American Sport Karate Association and Pro-Mac Sanctioned event. This tournament has been going strong for over 20 years and draws martial arts competitors from all over the nation. Divisions were big and stacked with talent. Addison Taylor competed in the Youth 10 – 11 Novice Division. Addison placed 3rd in Open Hand Forms and 4th in Point Sparring. Taylin Overly competed in the Youth 10 – 11 intermediate division. She placed 4th in Traditional Weapons and 1st in Point Sparring. Jenna Runkle competed in the Youth 8 – 9 Novice Division and placed 1st in Traditional Weapons, 5th in Open Hand Forms and 2nd in Point Sparring. Jordan Tinkle competed in the Youth 6 – 7 Intermediate Division and placed 2nd in Traditional Weapons, 3rd in Open Hand Forms and 2nd in Point Sparring.
