The Cedar County Commission met March 23, 2020. Present were: Marlon Collins, Presiding Commissioner; Don Boultinghouse, Northern Commissioner; Robert Foster, Southern Commissioner; Heather York, County Clerk.

Met with Chad Pyle, Assessor

Requests to process court order 25378-25396, to add-on the assessed valuation of newly purchased personal property.

Met with Peggy Kenney, Treasurer

Discussed progress on installation of financial software over the past week.

Met with Sheriff James McCrary

Met with Marvin Manring, Cedar County Memorial Hospital Board

Byron Hamilton stopped in to visit with the commission.

Met with DJ Ford, Road & Bridge Supervisor

Discussed sump pump maintenance and parking area at courthouse.  Discussed county roads CR151, CR800, and CR101.   Quarries are low on rock, down to wet 1” base and 1” road rock.  Discussed setting up a test on a road groom.

Met with Nick Allison, Cedar County Economic Developer

Discussed projects that have been tabled due to COVID-19 precautions.

Commission reviewed monthly reports submitted by County Clerk, Collector of Revenue and Recorder of Deeds offices.

Bills and payroll were approved.

The Cedar County Commission met March 30, 2020. Present were: Marlon Collins, Presiding Commissioner; Don Boultinghouse, Northern Commissioner; Robert Foster, Southern Commissioner; Heather York, County Clerk.

Cedar County Commission met at 7:00 a.m. in an emergency session due to the COVID-19 status change in Cedar County’s positive cases.

Arlo Rupke and Becky Groff were in attendance to discuss the counties intentions and procedure with this new information.

Boultinghouse made a motion to approve order #2020.03.30 to close the Cedar County Courthouse to the public until further notice, second by Foster.  Collins – Yes, Foster – Yes, Boultinghouse – Yes

Commission meetings will be by conference call-in beginning April 6th until further notice.  All offices are still actively working.

Discussed transmission repair.

Conference call with Jenean Ehlers concerning health department status updates.

Road complaints were received by phone from two residents on CR2100 and another resident on CR175 & CR1400.

2:30 p.m. Opened bids for Sheriff’s Office repeater.  Only one bid was received from Radio Phone in the amount of $14,312.25.  Motion by Foster to accept Radio Phone bid, second by Boultinghouse.  Collins – Yes, Boultinghouse – Yes, Foster – Yes

Foster made a motion to approve order #2020.03.30.02 for Social Distancing for Cedar County residents, second by Boultinghouse.  Collins – Yes, Boultinghouse – Yes, Foster – Yes
