Fishing’s good. The river’s down.

They are catching mostly blue cats. You have to use perch or gold fish to catch flatheads.

I’ve got gold fish, bullheads, crawdads, worms and frozen bait.

We will be closed on Sunday and Monday until next March.

Caplinger

Caplinger Woods

Ryan Finch

They are catching catfish off the bridge up against the dam. Worms are the best bait.

Several people are fishing but the heat slowed them down.

Call 417/276-3838 and we’ll call you back.

The lake is a foot below normal pool. They are slaying the crappie on brushpiles with jigs and minnows.

You can go to an app called Mo Fishin and see about a hundred brushpiles the Corps has placed in the lake. You can do that on any Corps lake.

Nobody is fishing for walleye.

I caught five catfish yesterday, Aug. 9, at Caplinger between the old bridge and the highway. I live about two miles from there.
