A birthday party was held for Jewell Ellerman’s 99th birthday on Sunday, Oct. 5, at the VFW Hall in El Dorado Springs. It was given by her daughter, Helen Ellerman, with the help of three friends of Helen’s; Arletta Wilson of Rich Hill, Karen Coy of Harwood and Linda Poore of El Dorado Springs. Jewell was surprised when some of her grandchildren came; they were granddaughter, Amy and her husband, Jesse Grant, great-granddaughter, Megan McFall and two year old great-great-granddaughter, Hadley McFall of Richmond; grandson, Chris and wife, Holly Ellerman, grandson, Mike and wife, Kelly Ellerman and great-granddaughter, Hannah Ellerman, all of Higginsville. Others there were Bob and Cheryl Ellerman of Edwards. She was also surprised when her niece and husband, Jackie Waler and Shawn Nichols of Fortuna, CA, came in.
Many others there were a niece, Martha Waltrip and her daughter, Janet Taylor of Nevada; Anna Hopkins, Leonard Hopkins and Sunny Ross of Stockton; Suzzette Berning, Janet Jones, Jodi Cauthon, Jim Spencer, Marasia Rozzel, Sherry Hails, Tracy Stevens, Eva Brooks, Destany Miller, Helen Davis, Dakota Keishher and Marcus Waitman, all of El Dorado Springs. Roger Floyd and Joan and Mike Hudson of Schell City came by to wish Jewell a happy birthday.
Helen would like to thank Joan for cleaning up after the party. Also for Peggy Taylor for having a picture taken of her and Jewell and putting it in the Oats paper; Michelle Smith, the coordinator from the El Dorado Springs Senior Center, for helping Helen get the party ready. Jewell would like to thank everyone for the gifts and cards that she received and everyone who came to the party.
