Kristina Kaye Burton White, 60, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, sleeping peacefully surrounded by the love and laughter of her granddaughters at her home in El Dorado Springs. Kris was born Oct. 3, 1965, to Dennis Burton and Connie Mayberry. She had the privilege of being loved and cared for by her grandparents, Tilly and Ray Burton, to shape her into the person everyone knows today. Kris graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1984. After graduation she attended Missouri Southern State College.

When she returned home from college, she started her career at Farm and Home in Nevada, MO. During her time there one of the greatest blessings she received was her son, Chase. While she was raising her young boy, she had the opportunity to start her 20+ year career at CPWSD where there was more socialization than work happening. If you had any business dealings with Kris, you know how she filled her office with her sparkly eye’s, laughter, joy, spunk and obnoxiously large ferns. She truly was a joy to be around.

Nov. 8, 2002, she officially gained not only the love of her life Mark White, but also the daughter she never thought she’d have, Cass. Family was everything to Kris, but her Grandbabies brought her the most joy. There wasn’t a toy, snack or outfit that didn’t get bought. The kids may have been told no, but never the grandkids.

Kris was proceeded in death by her husband, Mark White; grandmother, Tilly; and grandfather, Ray. She is survived by her son, Chase Gardner; daughter, Cass White and wife, Tara-Kanita; granddaughters, Ollie and Lena; grandson, Milo; father, Dennis Burton and his wife, Mary Ellen; mother, Connie, Maberry; sister, Sandy Fairbetter and her husband, Craig; a host of nieces and nephews, and an incredible group of friends. But most of all her beloved sidekick and best friend, Ang Smith.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 10, at Virgil City Cemetery in Virgil City, MO. Memorials are suggested to the family c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO.
