Run for a Reason, the family run/ walk event held on Saturday morning of the annual El Dorado Springs Picnic, was established to promote awareness, advance treatments and support research involving childhood cancer through St. Jude and at the same time promote health and fitness in the surrounding community. The El Dorado Springs Optimist Club donated proceeds of $850 from their annual pancake breakfast held in conjunction. First overall male finisher in the 5K race was Braxton Watts with a time of 18:58 and first overall female finisher was Audrey Goatley with a time of 23:10.
