Effective May 4 2020, Cedar County Memorial Hospital will begin resuming some elective surgeries on a case by case basis. Each surgical case will be evaluated based on urgent need, comorbidities and the chance of needing to stay in the hospital versus going home.

Each surgery patient will be allowed to have one support person accompany them. The patient and support person will have a screening upon entry to the facility. The support person must stay in the patient room while the patient is back in surgery and during the entire visit in the hospital.

Patients and their support person will undergo a COVID-19 screening and are asked to call the surgery department at 417-876-3720 to cancel appointment if at any time they develop COVID type symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath prior to the surgery date.

CCMH understands these elevated restrictions and screenings may be inconvenient, but this is an important step in keeping everyone as safe and healthy as possible. Cedar County Memorial Hospital appreciates the community’s help, understanding and compliance in helping to protect our patients, families, staff and community.
