Last Saturday, Cedar County Memorial Hospital hosted its first-ever Community Health Fair, welcoming over 50 residents for a morning of free health screenings, fitness challenges, and family activities.

Participants received complimentary lab testing, bone density checks, and grip strength assessments, with Occupational Therapist Annie Thorpe leading the grip challenge that sparked several friendly family competitions. Children enjoyed climbing aboard the El Dorado Springs Fire Department’s fire truck while parents visited with local health partners.

The event also featured booths from Physicians Medical, On My Own, and Heartland Hospice, each offering information, giveaways, and health resources for attendees.

Hospital officials described the event as a success and expressed plans to make it an annual tradition. “It was a great turnout and a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together around health and wellness,” organizers said.
