This is the week! Get signed-up for the Spring City Spooktacular. We need our members to help make this a successful event for our community’s youth. We can’t do it without your participation. And we would like to publicly thank each participating business/organization so please let us know this week.

From our “Trivia” article below…Community events are central gathering places in many communities and are a natural fit for hosting, sponsoring or participating in Halloween events. It’s a great opportunity to connect with consumers. The number of people planning to carve a pumpkin (45.5 percent) and visit haunted houses (20.9 percent) is also up, indicating that enthusiasm for candy might be fizzling in favor of experiences and events (like the Spring City Spooktacular).

Some members already participating as candy sponsors include Toshua McCormick’s State Farm, Mid Missouri Bank, Cedar County Memorial Hospital, Evans Drug, Grace United Methodist Church, Farran’s Shelter Insurance, Experience Hearing Center, Woods Supermarket, Vision Source, El Dorado Springs Optimist Club, CMH Walk-In Family Clinic, Shannon & Associates, Pappy’s Homestyle Cooking Restaurant. Plus Nine Wonders Optimist Club will serve apple cider, Santa Paula Awning will serve popcorn, Fidelity Communications is contributing lighted zipper pulls, and Shelter Insurance is giving out trick-or-treat bags with safety tips! Call (417) 876-4154 or email us to be a part of this kid-safe community event.

Special thanks to the El Dorado Springs Optimist Club, joining us to pay for half of the children’s costume contest and we are doubling the booth decorating contest, now $100 in prize money.

We have some big entries we’re working on for the 2019 “Star Spangled Christmas” Parade! Be considering how you can participate and honor our VFW, the oldest Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Missouri, celebrating 100 Years! And to salute all of our veterans and active duty personnel on Saturday, November 16. If you haven’t had a parade entry in the past few years this is the year to get involved! It’s free to enter and promote your business for any chamber member. Call (417) 876-4154 or email the chamber today to participate! Parade Committee meeting this Tuesday, 5 PM at the Chamber. For Holiday Expo info contact Vicki Hillsman via email, vickihillsman@gmail.com or call (417) 876-7126.

In sad news, our condolences go to the Kohn family. Don Kohn passed away last Friday. He and wife Sue have owned KESM Radio in El Dorado Springs since 1985.

Community National Bank & Trust and Citizen’s Memorial Healthcare Walk-In Clinic and Community Springs Healthcare Facility are our Chamber Chat “Featured Investors” this month. And our September Featured Partner Level Member is Mike & Joe’s Service Station. Thank you all for your support of your Chamber of Commerce.

Remember, ‘tis a privilege to live in these Ozarks. Make it a great day,
