Citizens Memorial Hospital will host a special exhibit Thursday, Aug. 7, showcasing the ION Robotic Bronchoscopy System, now available at the CMH Pulmonology Clinic.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the clinic’s parking lot 1165 N. Butterfield Road, Bolivar.
As part of the interactive exhibit, attendees can explore Intuitive’s Thoracic Oncology Mobile Experience (TOME) truck, an 80,000-pound, 18-wheeler that travels the country educating the public about lung cancer screening and treatment. The high-tech mobile unit demonstrates how robotic bronchoscopy is advancing the detection and diagnosis of lung cancer.
Jason Bailey, D.O., board-certified pulmonologist at CMH, will give presentations throughout the day inside the TOME truck. He will share how the ION system improves early diagnosis of lung cancer through enhanced precision and minimally invasive techniques.
“Our goal is to bring cutting-edge technology to our patients in southwest Missouri,” Dr. Bailey said. “The ION system allows us to reach small, hard-to-access nodules in the lungs earlier and more accurately, which is critical in the fight against lung cancer.”
The come-and-go event is free and open to the public.
