Community Springs Healthcare Facility (CSHCF), a long-term care facility of Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation (CMH), received a five-star rating, the highest rating possible, by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CSHCF specializes in skilled-nursing care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, independent living and Alzheimer’s care.

According to cms.gov, the Five-Star Quality Rating System was created to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily. The rating system features an overall quality rating of one to five stars based on facility performance on three types of performance measures, including health inspections, staffing levels and quality measures. The top 10 percent in each state receive a five-star rating.

“Our team of physicians, nurses, aides, environmental services, activities, and administration work really hard to ensure that our residents receive exceptional care,” says Chris Vickers, administrator of CSHCF.

CMH operates six long-term care facilities and one residential care center in Cedar, Dallas, Greene and Polk Counties. To review ratings from area long-term care facilities,  visit www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare.
