Disrupting the Industry Standard
A thorough exterior evaluation helps identify pest activity and determine the right treatment approach.Last week we discussed pest control, pest management, and pest solutions. We heard from several readers afterward. Many shared rushed visits and unclear explanations. Most people simply want problems solved and honest communication. Several readers also asked how to recognize thorough service and realistic timelines.
Over the years I have seen the same pattern repeat. A technician arrives, treats the exterior, then leaves within ten or twelve minutes. That approach still exists today. Many companies build schedules around volume instead of service quality.
Pests do not live on schedules, and homes change every season. Real infestations involve construction, moisture, entry points, storage habits, and weather shifts. Insects adapt, rodents adapt, and last year’s solution may fail this year.
Exterior service is not just a perimeter spray when done correctly. A proper exterior treatment includes harborage areas, entry points, foundation zones, and surrounding conditions. This work takes time and attention to detail. Rushing through it creates false confidence.
My contention has always been simple. Start with a thorough inspection. You cannot fix what you do not understand. A proper initial visit often takes an hour or more.
During that visit, entry points, harborage areas, moisture issues, and contributing conditions are documented. Recommendations are explained clearly to the homeowner. Treatment plans should match the situation, not a preset schedule. That approach builds trust.
Ongoing services also require time when done correctly. A proper exterior service alone can take thirty to forty five minutes. That does not include interior inspections or homeowner conversations. Rushing through service rarely delivers consistent results. Consistent follow up keeps progress moving and prevents small issues from returning later.
Homeowners often feel disconnected after rushed visits. They may see activity and assume something went wrong. They also wonder what was treated or what comes next. These questions deserve clear answers.
Improvement takes time in many cases. Some infestations require multiple visits. Some require changes by the homeowner. Clear expectations reduce frustration and help everyone work together. Education helps homeowners support treatments between visits.
That is the industry standard we are working to change. Disruption does not mean cutting prices or making louder promises. It means slowing down where others rush. It means inspecting instead of guessing. Clear plans guide each visit and protect long term results for families. Honest conversations prevent surprises and strengthen working relationships across every service call. Follow through matters when conditions change inside homes.
Accountability matters in every service relationship. If something is missed, we return and correct it. If customers have questions, we answer them. If results take longer, we adjust plans. Consistent care builds lasting confidence for homeowners facing recurring problems each season.
In small towns, reputation matters and people talk quickly. Every home represents a relationship, not just a service ticket. At Integrity Pest Solutions, our goal is quality service and real results. We stand behind our work and treat people with respect. We stay involved until improvement happens and questions are answered. We appreciate every call and every chance to help local families.
