On Thursday, Dec. 18, at 11:53 a.m. the fire department was dispatched to a residence on W. Poplar for a lift assist. Nine firefighters responded. A short time later at 1:25 p.m. the fire department was dispatched to a grass fire in a field on Militia Rd. in Vernon County. Four trucks and 13 firefighters responded. Then the fire chief was dispatched to a residence on W. Martin at 2:55 p.m. for a possible natural gas leak. Spire was notified, no hazard was discovered. At 6:05 p.m. the fire department was dispatched to a tree fire on S. 501 Rd. One tanker and four fighters responded. Busy day.

On Friday, Dec. 19, at 11:08 a.m. the fire department was dispatched to a grass fire near County Rds. 201 and 500. Four trucks and 13 firefighters responded.

On Saturday, Dec. 20, at 9:45 a.m. the fire department was dispatched to the airport to set up and protect a landing zone for a medical aircraft. Two trucks and seven firefighters responded.
