With the retirement of Dr. Mike Frier on Thursday, Aug, 20. 2020, he and his wife, Dr. Cathy Frier, ended their 42 year practice of servicing El Dorado Springs and the surrounding community.

Both Drs. Mike and Cathy, have been involved in the Missouri Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Mike received his board certification Fellowship in College of Vision Development, FCOVD, in 1990. Since that time, he has had many opportunities to work with patients of all ages, changing the way they see the world, through sports training and vision therapies. Treating reading and learning difficulties and visual side effects of strokes and traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Mike has also traveled to many of the surrounding nursing homes and care facilities bringing eye care to patients unable to visit the office. Dr. Mike has always been in the business of helping people, that is his passion. The many years of watching kids grow up in his practice and having the pleasure of serving multiple family generations was such a blessing the memories and friendships established will last a lifetime.

Dr. Cathy has always been a helping hand to the community as well, inviting the Pre-School kids each year to the office or visiting the school to teach kids about eyes, vision and the importance of eye safety. Dr. Cathy also served on the Missouri State Board of Optometry from 1998-2013.  Dr. Cathy retired in Dec. 2016.

In January 2019, Drs. Michael and Cathy Frier, sold Family Vision Center to Jeremy and Dr. Laura Montgomery. Jeremy and Laura also own Vision Source Bolivar in Bolivar.  Dr. Montgomery and Dr. Kirar will continue the great care you have come to expect over the years.
