Having positive thoughts and a good attitude help in weight loss

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building, on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025 for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Our Leader, Warren called the meeting to order.  We are so happy to have Warren back with us.

Carol led us in singing “I Must Attend My Meetings”.

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges

Warren led us in roll call, fifteen members weighed in.  We had a 3.2-pound gain and a 4.2 loss.  Giving us a net loss of 1 pound.

The best loser for the week was Erin with a 2.4-pound loss.   Congratulations Erin!

We welcomed a new member today, Phyllis R.  We are so glad you joined our group.

Linda Hall had the program today.  She spoke on how positive thoughts can help us.  Linda had two members each hold a 2 lb weight out in front of them for a period of time.  As they were holding the weights other members said/shouted negative things to them.  Linda then had them do it again and members said/shouted positive thoughts to them.  It was so much easier to hold the weights extended while receiving positive thoughts.  You have to practice giving yourself positive thoughts. It does not come naturally Linda said setbacks do happen to us all, but we need to learn to grow from the tough stuff and keep positive thoughts.  It is also beneficial to have an attitude of gratitude.  Thank you, Linda, for a very thoughtful program.

Contest:  The two contest words for this week is: Smoothie and Success

Marble game:  There is $11.50 in the pot, Linda C won the right to draw but did not get the winning one

Warren asked about holding a Christmas Party this year.  We have a limited number of dates to pick from Dec. 11th and Dec. 23rd are the only ones available.  Marie made a motion to have our Christmas Party on December 11th.  Jan 2nd Marie’s Motion.  The motion carried.   We will have our annual gift exchange, if you wish to participate, please bring a gift for a woman if you are a woman and a gift for a man if you are a man.  Gift should not be more than $15.  We will have finger food, healthy or course.

Warren said if anyone is interested in going to the TOPS Event, they should see Linda for a sign-up form.
