Cedar County Memorial Hospital Senior Life Solutions is preparing to bring awareness to mental health in Cedar County for Mental Health Month in May, and we are asking local businesses and organizations to join in the fun!

Many area residents struggle with mental health. Likely more than we will ever know or be able to help, due to the stigma surrounding mental illness as well as seeking treatment.

Together, we can make a difference. By talking about the importance of mental wellbeing and seeking help when needed, we can reduce mental illness in our community and the negative consequences that carry into our workplaces, schools and homes.

This May we will host a Chalk the Walk and a painted rock scavenger hunt to involve as many people as possible in mental health awareness. Will you support the effort and commit to join us in one or more activity below?

1. If you have a digital sign, include a mental health message during May.

2. Take some time to chalk encouraging messages and uplifting art on the sidewalk outside your building during the month of May.

3. Add your facility as a stop in the scavenger hunt. Place a painted rock (or a few!), outside in a spot that is easily accessible. Paint your own or we can help supply, just let us know what you need. Please let us know by May 1st to be included.

4. Provide a prize for a drawing. We want to offer a prize drawing for those who complete the scavenger hunt. The better the prizes we can offer, the more participation and the more awareness we can build! You will be recognized as a sponsor for donating.

Thank you for your time and for considering participating in Mental Health Awareness Month. Sincerely,
