Kenna Morris, administrator of Big Spring Care Center, has been named 2024 Administrator of the Year. This award recognizes her leadership and dedication to quality care at the skilled nursing facility.

Morris, who has led the facility for three years, has implemented significant improvements, fostering a culture of proactive, resident-focused care. In a recent social media post, she credited her team for the achievement.

“I am truly honored to receive the 2024 Administrator of the Year award. This recognition is not just a reflection of my efforts, but a testament to the dedication and hard work from my team. Your commitment, collaboration, and passion make all the difference. This achievement belongs to all of us, and I am grateful to work alongside such talented individuals.”

Her leadership has left a lasting impact on both staff and residents. Jamie Clark, RN and director of nursing, who has worked under Morris for nearly two years, praised her ability to lead with confidence and inspire her team.

“Kenna leads by example and inspires confidence in her team to do the same,” Clark said.

Mark Rogers, maintenance director, shared a similar sentiment, emphasizing Morris’ ability to bring out the best in her staff.

“Kenna pulls the best out of the people under her,” Rogers said.

Morris’ impact extends beyond clinical care, reaching every department within Big Spring Care Center. Dana Maslonka, activities director, who has been with the facility for eight years, said Morris’ leadership style is both encouraging and supportive.

“Kenna always pushes us to do better, and when she sees that we are struggling, she will see what she can do to help us,” Maslonka said.

Kristy Jelks, social services director, has worked under Morris for two years and said her guidance has helped her grow professionally.

“Kenna always helps me to use my head to find a solution. She is a strong teacher and helps me to overcome my weaknesses to find my strength,” Jelks said.
