‘If It Is To Be It Is Up To Me’

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building 700 E. Hospital Rd., on Thursday, July 9, 2026 for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Warren called the meeting to order

Carol and Phyllis led us in singing “This Is My Lose Year.”

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges

Warren led us in roll call, 16 members weighed in we had a Gain of 8.2 and a loss of 2.0, giving us a net Gain of 6.2. Best Loser for the week was Linda C. with a loss of 1.6 pounds.

Today is the election of officers. Since rules have changed, we now select a Facilitator to serve for one year. That person is selected by affirmation. Warren was selected as our Facilitator by a motion from LJ and a Second from Carol, motion passed.

Warren asked the current officers if they would continue in the office they now hold and if anyone else was interested in the position. Motion was made by Linda H and seconded by Jan to affirm all officers, motion passed.

Remember: Fall Rally is Sept. 26 in Springfield. If you plan to attend you must register with Linda H before August 10th.

Linda H gave a short program about “Thank You for Your Time.” The story is about a young boy who spent a lot of his time growing up talking with and doing things for his elderly neighbor. The story told how the neighbor shaped the boy’s life and how he showed his appreciation by leaving a box with a timepiece for him engraved with the words “thank you for your time.” Linda asked us, how did we spend our time this week?

Some talked about how they helped others, and encouraged others. TOPS encourages us to share some of our time with others who need it.

Marble game: Since the pot was won last week by Sue there was only $2.50 in the pot. Linda C won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Linda H presented Marie with a certificate for reaching 9 years as a KOPS and a certificate and charm for 5 of those years being consecutive.

Linda H. presented a bill for Printing and Ink in the amount of $71.41. Motion was made by Carol and seconded by Linda C to pay this bill, motion passed.

With no other business we closed with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”
