Kameron Williams, 19, Butler, was severely injured in a one-car accident at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, On Hwy. D north of Butler, according to the report by Troooper H. R. Stevens.

He is the son of Danny Williams, Neosho, and Heather Hartegan, Butler.

He suffered damaging injuries to his neck and spine where a shattered vertebrae is pressing against the spinal cord causing lower body paralysis. He had breathing problems early on that seem to be clearing up.

He will soon leave Overland Park Regional for rehabilitation in Nebraska for the spinal injury.

Prayers are needed.

The trooper’s report said the crash occurred as his 2007 Honda was traveling east on Hwy. D, crested a hill and became airborne. Upon landing, Mr. Williams lost control and traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a barbed wire fence, overturned and struck a tree before coming to rest in a creek.

Mr. Williams was transported by life flight to Overland Park Regional Hospital.
