Kindness is something we get and something we give

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building 700 E. Hospital Rd., on Thursday, June 25 for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Warren called the meeting to order.

Linda H led us in singing “It’s Not Too Late.”

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges.

Waren led us in roll call, 12 members weighed in we had a gain of 3.4 and a loss of 5.4, giving us a net Loss of 2.0 pounds. We were so happy to see Pam, she was able to join us for a bit. Pam lost 4.4 pounds since her last weigh in which was in December. Best loser of the week was Jan with a 1- pound loss. Congratulations Jan.

Pat presented the program today. She spoke on “Kindness.” This program came from TOPS NEWS Sept Oct 2025.  Kindness is something we get and something we give.  Kindness cuts through bad times. Have you ever been feeling sorry for yourself or just down and someone reaches out to you? Even with just a smile from a stranger, or a phone call from a friend, it changes your mood.

Sometimes the hardest thing is being kind to yourself.

How do we project kindness? Call a friend you haven’t talked to for a while, smile at people you see when you are out and about, give a complement, give encouragement, or just sit and listen. Kindness doesn’t cost anything.

Learn to forgive yourself, just know you are doing your best.

If you are feeling down ask yourself who needs a bit of kindness, sometimes it might be you!

Warren said there is a correction on the location of Fall Rally, it is; located in the Kingsway United Methodist Church, 2401 N Lone Pine, Springfield, Mo. Meeting starts at 10 a.m., registration is $15.  Bring a bag lunch.

Reminders:  Measurements will be taken on July 9 and Election of officers will be on July 9 as well. The contest ends on the last weigh in in July.

Marble Game: The pot is up to $35. Linda C won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.
