MFA Oil raises $165,000 for Operation Homefront 3 cc

MFA Oil Company, a farmer-owned cooperative based in Columbia, announces it has raised $165,000 to support Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit organization that provides emergency and other financial assistance to thousands of military troops and their families. The money was raised through the company’s second Annual Charity Golf Scramble & Concert, which was held June 6 at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia. The tournament attracted 200 golfers and included prize money and awards for tournament winners. In addition to golf, participants and guests were treated to dinner and a private concert featuring country music singer-songwriter Sara Evans. MFA Oil thanks the tournament participants, its sponsors, employees and customers for helping to make the event a success.“We’re proud to support Operation Homefront in their efforts to assist the military families and wounded warriors who protect our freedom,” says Mark Fenner, MFA Oil president and CEO. “Thanks to the generosity of everyone who played a role in our charity golf tournament and concert, we were able to more than double our donation from last year.” Pictured are (from left) Mark Fenner, MFA Oil president and CEO; Jacqueline Watts, Operation Homefront director of programs for the KS/MO field office; Colonel Joseph Koller, U.S. Army; Major Scott Akerley, U.S. Army; John Laws, chairman of the KS/MO Operation Homefront Advisory Board.
