Marvin Manring was recently elected Vice-President of the Cedar County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. He hails from Albany, MO, where he was born in a county hospital a lot like the one right here in Cedar County – except this time it was Gentry County Memorial Hospital. He currently teaches Music and is the Band Director at Stockton R-1 schools. He and his wife, also an educator, have lived in the Stockton community for the past 26 years. They have a daughter, Liz; son-in-law, Josh; granddaughter, Claire; and a son, Lucas; along with his wife, Valerie. Marvin attended college at Central Methodist in Fayette and worked in the field of music education in both California and Slater, MO, before making Stockton home. He enjoys golf in his spare time but admits that his wife “is the pro” when it comes to the game.
Marvin has served on the Cedar County Ambulance Board and on the local Ambulance Board while living in Slater. He is currently active in the Stockton Methodist Church, Stockton Lions Club, and the Stockton Community Foundation Board.
Marvin has great interest in quality local healthcare and feels that Cedar County Memorial Hospital has filled that need for many years. He looks forward to the continued success of the hospital and is thankful for the services that it provides to county and area wide residents.
