Reedy family holds reunion

The Reedy family held a family reunion Saturday, July 15 at the Senior Center at El Dorado Springs. A potluck dinner was served at the noon hour. There were around 50 present. Those present were: Jewell (Reedy) and Helen Ellerman; Katiana, Jamie, Kodi, Karnly and Jasmie West and  Austin Reed – El Dorado Springs; Bob and Cheryl Ellerman – Edwards; Darrel and Judy Nichols and Tammy Agee – Stockton; Jacob, Katie and Realynn Agee – Taneynlls; Jim and Martha Waltrip and Leon and Kathy Smith – Nevada; Janet Taylor – Walker; Jerry Reed, David and Kim Reedy – Moundville; Michaela Walker – Pittsburg, KS;  Vickie Gastel and Chris, Jacque, Jesico, Byren and Sazzalyn Cerney – Sheldon; Monty and Kathy Dade – Golden City; Warren and Linda Kay – West Linn, OR; Kaness and Jessie Shields – Central Point, OR; Eric, Ellma, Bob and Evan Smith – Kansas City, KS; Kathy Osborn – Rock, KS; Tom and Virginia Reedy, Philip, Darlene and Rachel Smith – Kidder; Greg Reedy – Richards; Nellie Hill and Bernadett Hill – Adrian.

There were 18 children in the Reedy family. Jewell (Reedy) Ellerman is the only one of the 18 children living. Jewell is 90. Most of those at the reunion were cousins. Jewell is an aunt to most of them except for her children, Bob and Helen and the Hills. The day was spent visiting and taking pictures. When the Reedy family was growing up they lived in the Harwood area. They plan to have another reunion next year. The date and place have not been decided yet.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, July 17. Brother Jon Caudle Sr.’s sermon “Christ’s Ministry to the People,” was taken from Luke 7:38-44.

Warren and Linda Kay of West Linn, OR, and Veressa and Jessie Shields of Central Point, OR, visited in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerman Sunday evening, July 16.

Madalyn Crocker had over 200 at her Forth of July celebration at the Schell Park Saturday, July 8. She had it on the 8th instead of the 4th because of rain.

Bob and Cheryl Ellerman of Edwards visited in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerman Saturday, July 15. There were here to attend the Reedy reunion.
