The Cedar County Republican Central Committee hosted its Lincoln Day Gala on Wednesday, April 15, at the Ray Zumwalt Expo Center in Stockton, drawing about 170 attendees for an evening of dinner, fellowship, and remarks from statewide leaders.

The event, themed “Honoring America’s 250th Anniversary,” featured a social hour, silent auction, and dinner catered by Hillbilly Express. Guests heard from Missouri Lt. Gov. David Wasinger, Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins, and Missouri State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick.

The ceremony opened with the presentation of the colors by the American Legion Post 230 color guard of Stockton. Numerous local elected officials and candidates for local office were also in attendance. Organizers also expressed appreciation to the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office for providing security and law enforcement presence during the event. Northern Commissioner Ron Alumbaugh served as master of ceremonies, appearing in period attire inspired by Abraham Lincoln.

Committee Chair Dr. Sam Alexander helped coordinate the appearance of all three statewide officials through relationships built during years of involvement in Republican politics and public service.

Following the event, Wasinger shared praise on his personal Facebook page, writing, “What a great group of Missourians in Cedar County. Proud of their community and proud to be Americans. The America 250-themed stage was outstanding. Honored to be invited.”

Hoskins also complimented the evening, telling organizers, “You all put together a great event.”

The silent auction, which included 18 donated items, raised $1,410. Total proceeds from the evening were reported at $5,850.

Expenses included $2,925.75 for catering and $450 for the expo center rental, for a total of $3,365.75. Net proceeds from the event totaled $2,484.25.

Committee officials said those proceeds, when added to the organization’s previous bank balance of $2,141.64, brought the committee’s total funds to $4,625.89.

Committee officials noted the totals remain preliminary, as some in-kind donations had not yet been assigned value, and not all receipts had been submitted at the time of the report.

Treasurer Brian Hammons said he is ready to begin planning for the next Lincoln Day Gala in 2028.

Organizers said the strong turnout and positive response from state leaders reflected growing enthusiasm among local Republicans as the 2026 election cycle approaches.
