Pat had the program today, she spoke on an article from TOPS NEWS Jan/Feb 2026 issue, “Rise and Shine,” Why building a morning routine matters. Whether you are an early bird or a self-proclaimed night-owl, your mornings can shape how the rest of your day unfolds. Cortisol, the wake-up hormone peaks in the morning to help you feel alert, then tapers off as the day goes on. This surge is part of your body’s circadian rhythm, the internal clock that keeps your body running smoothly.

Habits like hydrating, moving your body and getting morning light help keep this rhythm on track, anchoring your body and mood so you can handle stress, stay productive and feel your best all day. Some tips to build your morning routine: Hydrate early, as soon as you get up have a glass of water. Brush your teeth, let in the light, open curtains or step out into the outdoors for a moment, it will lift your spirits. Move your body, do some gentle stretching. Fuel up with a balanced breakfast. And take a mindful moment, Pause for a few deep breaths, light meditation or journaling.

Thank you, Pat, for a great program.

Erin will have the program next week.

Marble game: there are only six marbles left and $46 in the pot. Margie won the right to draw but did not get the winning one. Next week only five marbles left!

Contest: Pat submitted the new contest she came up with. She passed out a sheet for members to use to keep track of goals. Each goal earns a specified number of points. Contest will run for ten weeks starting this week. Entry to the contest will be $4 per person. Linda H made a motion to accept this contest, Jan seconded it. Vote taken by show of hands, passed. Please see Pat to pay your entry fee if you want to join in and if you did not get a sheet of items, she will have one for you.

Linda H gave us some information for the upcoming State Recognition Day (SRD) coming up on May 7,8, and 9 in the Oasis Hotel, in Springfield.
