Drivers should expect lane reductions and traffic delays when a project to rehabilitate the U.S. Route 54/Little Dry Wood Creek bridges west of Nevada begins the week of March 11, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will remove the bridge deck/driving surface on both east- and westbound bridges and replace it with a new driving surface.
Traffic impacts:
Beginning the week of March 11, contractor crews will CLOSE the westbound bridge and shift traffic head-to-head on the eastbound lanes until mid-summer
When contractor completes work on westbound bridge, the eastbound bridge will CLOSE and traffic shifted head-to-head on the westbound lanes for duration of the project
Drivers should expect traffic delays
Watch for equipment and crews entering and exiting the work zone
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
Drivers should consider alternate routes during the project
Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
