Spiva arrested in El Dorado Springs on drug, resisting charges

Dennis Spiva, 47, of El Dorado Springs, was booked into the Cedar County Jail on Aug. 28 following his arrest by the El Dorado Springs Police Department.

According to court records, Spiva was charged with possession of a controlled substance, excluding 35 grams or less of marijuana, with the case enhanced under persistent offender status. He was also charged with resisting arrest by fleeing in a manner that created a substantial risk of serious injury or death to others.

Both charges were filed under active warrants issued the same day. No bond was set.

As of press time, Spiva remained held at the Cedar County Jail.

Joshua Haley, 44, of Stockton, was arrested Aug. 26 by the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Cedar County Jail.

Court records show Haley was charged with peace disturbance, assault in the third degree involving a special victim, and resisting or interfering with arrest, detention, or stop. All three charges were filed under warrants issued the same day.

Bond was set at $20,000 cash only on the assault and resisting charges. No bond was set on the charge of peace disturbance.

As of press time, Haley remained held at the Cedar County Jail.

El Dorado Springs woman held on probation shock order

Kendra Berning, 45, of El Dorado Springs, was arrested Aug. 31 by the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office on a probation violation.

Court records list the case status as “probation shock.” No bond was set.

As of press time, Berning remained in custody at the Cedar County Jail with a scheduled release date of September 2.
