Five visiting musicians to play with Municipal Band Saturday, July 8
We would like to invite everyone to a very special concert Saturday, July 8, at 8 p.m. Our Municipal Band will be hosting a group of five musicians from the Kansas City area who will be performing “Dueling Tubas” accompanied by our Band. This song will feature two solo tuba players – Howard Bell and Mark Drake. Howard has played the tuba for 72 years and has taught band for 26 years at all levels – elementary through university. Mark is a founding member of the Happy Wanderers German Band that performs professionally in the KC Metro area. All five visiting musicians play in various Kansas City civic bands, and we are fortunate that they could find the time to come visit El Dorado Springs and share their talents.
The Band will play K.L.King songs that night, and these fine musicians will be joining us for the evening.
Please come on out Saturday to listen to “Dueling Tubas” and K. L. King songs and help us extend a warm El Dorado Springs welcome to Howard Bell, Mark Drake, Gary Alvested, Lynn Garrison and Dwight Rhodes as they visit our friendly little town. We play Friday and Saturday evenings from 8 to 9 and Sunday afternoons from 2 to 3.
