TOPS Chapter 319 El Dorado Springs (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) met in the Church of Christ meeting room on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Sheryl opened the meeting in the absence of Robbie who had surgery on her shoulder on Wednesday.

Kay led us in singing “We’ll Lose Weight”.

We said our TOPS and KOPS pledges.

Sheryl led us in roll call. Twenty-Seven Members weighed in today.

Nikki was our week’s best loser with a loss of 3.2 lbs.  Congratulations Nikki!

Marilyn gave Nikki her award for a back in black month for the month of January.

We sang Happy Birthday to Juanita.

Jean won the right to draw for a marble but got the green one.

Jean read a letter from Sylvia. SRD information will be mailed to chapter leaders by the first week in March.  Deadline for registration is March 20.

Susan is preparing tickets, order blanks and so on for the potato bake luncheon. The date of the Baked Potato Luncheon is Thursday, March 16. The location will again be at the Community Center Banquet room. Susan will bring the work schedules and signup sheet for desserts in next week.  Remember if you sell delivery orders, you are responsible for getting those prepared and delivered. If you need help, recruit a chapter member to help you.

Susan had the program today. She spoke on The Sensible part of Taking off pounds Sensibly.

She made up a board showing all the weight loss advertisements over the years. Weight loss is nothing new.  She found ads for weight loss dating back to the 40’s.

There have been fad diets and diet books for many years.  There is no Magic Pill. What works for one may not work for another. Some of the fad diets can actually be harmful to your health. So do your research, pick a sensible plan and stick to it.

Susan said the support is why she likes TOPS. If someone finds something that works for them they share it with others and it may be just what someone else needed.

Remember the Magic Pill Does Not Exist.

Thank you Susan for a wonderful entertaining program.

With no other business, meeting was adjourned with our motto.  ‘If It Is TO Be It Is Up To ME”
