TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, Aug.16, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.

Sheryl said 25 members weighed in today and we had a net loss of 2.2 lbs. Warren and Chris tied for the weeks best loser with a loss of 3.6 lbs. each. Chris could not stay for the meeting so Warren received the award.

We sang Happy Birthday to Sandi and Happy Anniversary to Juanita and Steve. They will celebrate their 10-year anniversary this week.

Sheryl turned the floor over to Alyce, a representative of Evans Drugs, for the program.

Alyce gave us information on Blood Pressure and Blood sugar. She said you can have your blood pressure checked at Evans anytime free of charge. They will check your blood sugar if you want.

She said one in three Americans have high blood pressure. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 High blood pressure  can cause many health problems such as heart attacks, stroke, aneurysms, eye problems, kidney problems and decreased blood flow. Blood pressure can be controlled by a healthy diet, weight control, exercise, tobacco cessation and medications

We thank Evans Drugs for the programs they are doing for us.
