TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, July 5, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.

Leader Sheryl Ann Walker called the meeting to order. Carol led us in singing “TOPSI DOODLE”.

We said our pledges.

Sheryl Ann led us in roll call and walking report. Twenty-two weighed in today and we had a 1.8 lb. loss.

Sheryl Ann was the weeks best loser with a loss of 2.8 lbs.

Marble game: Sue C. won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Contest report: Warren said the KOPS part of the contest ended this week.  The TOPS still have a long way to go.

Sheryl reminded us it is time to sign up for the St Jude’s Run For A Reason. This is a walk/run on Saturday, July 21. Our chapter usually has several participate in this event. You may sign up at Evans Drug or at Shelter Insurance, the cost is $15 if you sign up before the 13th, $20 after that date. We meet at the Community Center at the corner of Jackson and Spring. The walk/run starts at 8 a.m. We usually wear our TOPS T-shirts. Those who are not able to do the two-mile walk are encouraged to come out and cheer the ones walking on.

Sheryl Ann asked about the chapter putting an ad in the Chamber Book. This book goes out to over 1,000 places, new people in town, businesses, are just a few. The cost is for a business card size ad is $95 a year. Jan made a motion we do this for one year, Robbie seconded and motion carried.

The floor was turned over to Marilyn who presented awards for the month of June.

The chapter had a net loss of 41 pounds for the month.

We only had one week where we had a gain.

Melissa was the winner of the free dues.

Best loser for the month was Traci but she had to leave early so we could not sing to her. She lost 12.6 lbs. for the month and won $7.55. Runner up was Melissa who lost 9.8 lbs. for the month.

Accomplishments:

Judy K, Melissa, Susan and Sheryl Ann all received back in black with perfect attendance certificates. Mary had a 4.2 loss this month and an all-black month and in a dew decade.

KOPS in leeway: Marilyn, Linda H, Sharon, Jean, Juanita, Melanie and Carol. Marilyn, Sharon and Juanita are all below goal.

Sue C received a certificate for six weeks steady looser.

Mary received a certificate for her 5 lb. loss.

Those on the stick are Judy B, Sue F, Margie, LJ and Marie.

Sheryl Ann reminded us election of officers will be next week.

Linda H presented some information on leadership, election and officer duties found in the Chapter Manual.

New officers assume duties on the first meeting of August.

Leaders role is to preside at all meetings, appoint weigh recorder and assistant weight recorder, and appoint committees.

Co-Leader assumes the temporary position of any absent officer as well as assisting the Leader.

Secretary keeps the minutes of the meeting, keeps copies of contest rules, and manages all correspondence. Copies of minutes are kept for three years,

Treasurer keeps track of the finances, is in charge of all receipts, collects membership fees, dues and fines. Records must be kept for seven years.
