TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1300 S. Summer St, El Dorado Springs on Thursday, Oct. 21, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.

Linda Hall, Leader, called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “Hey Look Me Over.”

We said our TOPS and KOPS pledges.

Linda H led us in roll call and walking report. Eighteen members weighed in, we had a Gain of 2.4 lbs. and a loss of 11.4 resulting in a net gain of 9 lbs.  Best loser for the week was Judy D with a loss of 3.4 #.

Linda H had the program today, she took her program from TOPS.org titled “Squash activity goals with a pumpkin workout.” First part of her program, she handed out a slip of paper with three things for us to write down and share. They were: One thing you’ve learned about yourselves this past year. One thing you’d like to change and one thing of which you’re proud. This sparked a great discussion from members as they shared the things they learned about themselves, the things they need to change and what they are proud of. Second part of the program was a series of exercises we could do from a chair. Thank you, Linda, for a great program. It is always nice to have a program where members share their tips and tricks for weight loss.

Contest: Today was the end of the current contest. Marilyn reported the first-place winners were team Sharron and Jean, they had 32 points. The winning team won $7 each Second-place winner was Team “Linda”, Linda H and Linda C had 29 points, they won their $1 entry fee back. Third place team was Laura and Constance. Marilyn said she would have a new contest soon.

Marble game: Margie won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

The Christmas Parade was discussed. We have a trailer, and hay bales. We need a theme.

Linda read a thank you letter received from CMH Hospice thanking us for the donation we made in memory of Marilyn’s husband

With no other business we closed with Linda’s thought of the day: The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time.

And our Chapter Motto: IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.
