TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Hill Church, (formerly Bethel Free Will Church) 1300 S. Summer St, El Dorado Springs, Thursday, July 14, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.
Linda Hall, Leader, called the meeting to order.
We sang “My Body”
We said our TOPS and KOPS pledges.
Linda led us in roll call and walking reports. Twenty-one members weighed in; we had a gain of 13.0 and a loss of 9.2 lbs. resulting in a net gain of 3.8 lbs. Best loser for the week was Pat with a loss of 4 lbs. Congratulations Pat!
Contest: Marilyn reported on the chapter contest. Winners of the TOPS portion were: 3rd place, Sue, 2nd place Tammy and winner Rachael First Place. First place winner won $15, congratulations Rachael! KOPS Portion winners were; Linda Hall, 2nd and Laura first place winner. Laura won $15 Congratulations Laura!
The State Summer contest is still ongoing, don’t forget to report your information to Marilyn. This one will end Aug. 18, and prizes will be given at the Fall Rally later in the year.
Laura had the program today, she titled it “Racing to your goal.” She had a cute display of stuffed animals racing to the goal line. She said there are lots of ways to reach your goal. You can be like the Cheetah always running around as fast as you can. We decided Laura was like the Cheetah. Or you can be like the Lobster and do the lobster crawl, crawling slowly for your goal and being persistent.
Sometimes we get like a sleepy baby, and we just want to curl up and do nothing. If that happens, listen to your body and get some rest.
Some are like the kitty cat. Up and down, around and around but will eventually get there.
Maybe you are a sled dog. You are the pace setter, always saying pick me for the pull and encouraging others to pull that sled.
Or maybe the Magic Fairy. Unfortunately, there is no Magic Fairy in weight loss and no Magic pill. It takes hard work and determination but with the help of our TOPS Chapter we will finish the race!
Laura then showed us some items we can order from TOPS international. They have a divided plate for fruits, veggies, protein and grains. They have a divided measuring cup that sits on your plate to measure how much of any item you are putting on your plate and they have a bowl with measuring cup lines in it, great for soups and salads. Check out all they have to offer on the web site.
With no other business meeting was adjourned with our Chapter Motto: IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.
