TOPS Chapter 319 El Dorado Springs met in the Church Of Christ Meeting room on Thursday, Dec. 29.

Robbie had the program today. She took her program from the TOPS Choice Is Mine book. She talked about taking control over what we eat. With the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017, we all need to take a fresh look at our weight loss plan. Work on your food plan, keep a food diary, make out your menu for the week and stick to it as close as you can. If you do not have will power, remove all tempting foods from your home. Robbie stressed the food diary is the most important. “If you bite it, write it.” She said success comes only if we decide we want it and go for it. Do it for you, pleasing another does not work.

She told us the “Steps To Change”

Pre Contemplate Change: You are thinking you need to make a change. You have been thinking about changing your habits and trying to lose weight and feel better.

Preparedness: Start planning and taking steps to achieve your goals such as joining TOPS.

Action: Make a commitment and stick with it. If you join a weight loss group such as TOPS, attend each meeting, face the scale and keep your food diary.

Maintain: You have established a program and you keep on it.

Focus: On what motivates you.

Create: A mental image of what you would do if you lost the desired weight.

Feel good: About yourself being in control. Reward yourself: with non-food items when you are successful.

Be good to yourself: And remember our TOPS motto: “If it is to be it is up to me.”

Kay led us in singing “Hey Look Me Over.”

Twenty-seven weighed in today. Steve Scoville was best loser for the week with a 5.2 loss.

We sang Happy Birthday to Paul. We sang Happy Anniversary to Kay who is celebrating 58 years of marriage as of Dec. 31.

Marilyn is a five year KOPS. Congratulations to all.

Paul won the right to draw for the marble game but he did not get the white one.

Warren reported on the contest. In KOPS, Marilyn is in the lead followed by Marie. TOPS – Juanita is leading with Chris in 2nd place, Linda W in 3rd.
