TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway Tuesday, July 31, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting. We met on Tuesday instead of Thursday due to Vacation Bible School being held at the church on Thursday. We will be back to our regular schedule of Thursday’s next week.

Leader Sheryl Ann called our meeting to order and Kay led us in singing “We’ll lose weight” We said our pledges.

Sheryl made several announcements:

The evening chapter of TOPS will have a guest speaker, David Dade on Thursday Evening at 6 p.m. They meet in the United Methodist Church 201 E Broadway. David is a nutritionist in Springfield and the son of Tom Dade a member of the TOPS Evening chapter. Public is invited.

Former members, Laddie and Nancy Tabor, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 10.

Linda H. is making up new chapter roster. If your address, phone number or any other information has changed please let her know ASAP.

KOPS Society meets Saturday, Aug. 4, in Springfield at 8:30 a.m. All KOPS are invited to attend and TOPS who are 10 lbs. of less of goal are also invited.

Twenty-Two weighed in today and the chapter had a 15 lb. loss. Our best loser for the week was our very own Leader, Sheryl Ann with a loss of 3.4 lbs. Congratulations Sheryl.

We sang Happy birthday to Marilyn who is celebrating her birthday today and to LJ who was gone on her actual birthday but did not want her to miss our singing to her.

Floor was turned over to Marilyn and Carol who had a short officer installation. There were no NEW officers but the officers continuing to take on the position were honored. Leader Sheryl was presented with a flower pot, co-leader Linda H was presented with the soil for the flower pot, secretary Jean was presented with the water and Treasurer Sue C was presented with the miracle grow, weight recorders, Marilyn and Carol were the Sunshine (they are encouraging even when we gain) all chapter members were to plant seeds in the pot.  Carol then presented Sheryl a gift certificate in appreciation of all she does for our chapter.

Thank you, Marilyn and Carol, for such a cute program.

Marilyn then presented awards for the month of July.

The chapter had a Net Loss of 13.6 lbs. for the month, Winner of free dues was Robbie.

Best loser of the month was Robbie with a loss of 6.6 lbs.  Robbie won $5.57 for being best loser.

Judy B received a certificate for 15 lb. loss and a certificate and charm for a 20 lb. loss.

Mary l. received a certificate and charm for a 10 lb. loss and a certificate and charm for six-week steady loser.

Sheryl Ann received a certificate for a 35 lb. loss she is in a new decade and at lowest weight this year.

Those “on the stick” are Marie, LJ, Judy B, Sue F., Susan and Juda.

Measurements are taken in January and July. First place winner in July with most inches lost was Sheryl Ann with a loss of 15”

Runner up was Mary L. with 10 1⁄4 inches lost. (This was just since May as Mary joined in May and had her first measurements taken.)

Contest report:  Steve reported Judy B won the contest and won $17.75

Marble game: Marilyn won the right to draw for the marble but did not get the winning one

Sheryl asked for ideas for a fund-raising project since we will not do the baked potato luncheon in September as several members will be gone.

One suggestion is to save Wood’s receipts. Sheryl is to get more information on this to be sure of the rules. LJ said she would collect them along with the Best Choice Labels. Robbie made motion we start collecting woods receipts as a fund raiser, LJ 2nd and motion passed.

A garage sale was mentioned. Discussion on where and when. Judy K said she would check for places to hold it

Robbie made motion we hold a garage sale and bake sale on Labor Day weekend.  Judy B 2nd and motion carried. Judy K and Juda will check on places to hold it.

With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”.
