Jean talked with Claudia and offered our help with Fall Rally. She wants our chapter to put on a couple of skits for fall rally and for the KOPS to talk about the KOPS Society.  Fall Rally will be in Bolivar on Oct. 13.

Mark your calendars for the KOPS Society meeting in Springfield first Saturday in August.

Sheryl reported she did not get many people volunteering for jobs.

Carol and Steve had the program today.

In honor of flag day and the theme of Carol’s program, Fresh fruits her husband made a flag using fruits and yogurt.

Carol took her program from TOPS Real People Real Life book.

She asked what fruits have Potassium in them other than bananas. Cantaloupe, oranges, honey dew and apricots have a large amount of potassium.

There is no cholesterol in fruits.

There is fiber in fruits with raspberries having the most.

Fruits have antioxidants with blueberries, raspberries and strawberries having the most.

By the way we learned raspberries and strawberries are not really a berry.

Carol then turned the program over to Steve. We have three members who are veterans, Steve, Warren and Melissa. Steve gave a history of the flag. In 1949 Harry Truman declared June 14, as Flag Day.

He told us the meaning of the red, white and blue in our flag.

We are proud to honor our veterans and our flag and our nation.

Carol’s fruit dessert was enjoyed by all.

With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.”
