TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1300 S. Summer St, El Dorado Springs on Thursday, Sept. 9, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.

Linda Hall, Leader, called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “Scales So Low.”

We said our TOPS and KOPS pledges.

Linda H led us in roll call and walking report. Twenty-Two members weighed in, we had a Loss of 8.2 and a gain of 14.4 resulting in a net gain of 6.2 lbs. Best loser for the week was Sue with a loss of 1.6. Congratulations Sue.

Linda Hall awarded Linda C with her 10 lbs. to goal certificate. Rachael, received her new member certificate and charm.

Linda Hall presented the program today, she spoke on “Lessons learned from my family problems. She talked about each child and their unique problems in growing up and how we can relate to them in our weight loss journey. “Get Cleaned Up” Make changes, try new things and get out of your comfort zone. “Keep On Moving” even if you face physical limitations find some way to keep moving. Move however you can, set goals, seek out an exercise group that fits your abilities. “Knock Knock at Death’s Door” Don’t let your weight hurt your health. Choose a lifestyle to take off pounds to be healthy.  “Are we battling our eating habits” Be aware of what you are putting in your mouth. Choose to eat healthy. Get out of your comfort zone, try new veggies and fruits you may not have tried before.

Contest: Marilyn presented the new contest starting today. “Exercise to Lose Weight.”  Rules are: TOPS: Exercise 3 X a week 20 minutes each day for one point, exercise five times a week for 20 minutes each day for two points. To earn points, you must also lose weight. A gain for the week is 0 points, a loss of less than a pound is one point and one pound loss or more is 2 points.

KOPS: Exercise three times a week for 20 minutes is one point, five times a week for 20 minutes is two points, just like the TOPS. KOPS if out of leeway no points, below goal one point and a loss or stay the same two points.

You must bring your chart every week at weigh-in for your exercise points to count.  $1 fee to enter. Warren made a motion to do this contest, Robbie 2nd motion carried. See Marilyn for an exercise chart and to pay your entry fee. She said if we have enough, she may assign partners.

If you must miss a meeting, you can bring in your exercise sheet the following week.

Marble game:  Judy D won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Fall Rally: Saturday, Oct. 9, in Bolivar. If you have not signed up and paid your registration fee of $12 you can still attend but you will have to pay at the door and the cost will be more. Those signed up to go are: Marie, Ray, Marilyn, Linda Hall, Laura, Jean, Judy B, Sue, Warren, Sharron, Pat, Jan, Constance, Linda Clay, Carolyn and Judy D.

Warren will have the program next week.
