TOPS subject of discussion: Self Sabotage: Standing in your own way

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Firefly Services building 700 E. Hospital Rd., on Thursday, Feb. 26, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Our Leader, Warren called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “Welcome New Member.” This was appropriate as we did indeed welcome a new member, Linda R.

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges

Linda H had the program today; she spoke on Self Sabotage. “Jack” is trying to lose weight the past five months; he is finding it hard to stay on track because he stays up late at night.

“Chuck” is a two-year KOPS but he is falling into a new habit as he had a shift change at work and is hitting the vending machines too often.

“Gert” Is depressed concerning her trying to lose weight.

Linda asked what are these three people doing? They are Standing in Their Own Way. There are ways to help, Jack could avoid screen time, and try to go to bed earlier. Chuck could start taking healthy snacks to work with him.

Gert wants to walk after work but she immerses herself in other things to avoid walking. Some things that might help is make a plan, set a bedtime and stick to it, take healthy snacks with you if you are going to be gone from home and only have access to high calorie snacks, try walking with a buddy on a set schedule that way you won’t want to disappoint your friend and find time to walk.

Warren said we need to change the date of our Chapter Recognition as the meeting room will be busy on the day previously set. It was decided to set it for March 19. Please mark your calendars and hopefully all members can attend.

MARBLE GAME: There is $15.50 in the pot, Judy B won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Linda H reminded us if you are going to SRD the $40 deposit must be paid by March 3.
