TOPS Chapter 319 El Dorado Springs (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) met in the Church of Christ Meeting Room on Thursday, March 30.

Kay led us in singing “Walk To Stay Fit”.

We said our TOPS and KOPS pledges.

We welcomed a brand new baby KOPS!  Juanita reached her goal weight today and is officially a KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly).

Twenty four weighed in today. The chapter had a net loss of 22 lbs.

Jan T. was the best loser of the week with a loss of 5.4 lbs.

Glenda Pate from the local Cedar County Library spoke to us on the importance of passing the quarter cent sales tax for the library in April.

There is an Organization called “Friends Of The Library” cost to join is $5 if you want to join see Kay Sewell.

Marilyn caught up on some more awards today.  Chris W received his award for 1st place in Division 2; he lost 14.2 lbs in 2016.

Tom received his month’s best loser for the month of January.

Kay had the program today. She spoke on Mastering your Appetite and foods that make you feel full.

To master your appetite you need to: Take Charge, have three regular meals and two snacks.

Stick to high fiber foods aim for 35 to 55 grams of fiber.

Drink lots of water.

Replace mild flavored foods with stronger flavored foods.

Slow down, enjoy your food.

Control the variety of foods you have available.

Make a tempting food inedible in your mind.

Distract yourself by doing something else if you are craving a food.

Get enough sleep.

Foods that help you feel full are:

Oatmeal, eggs, nuts, beans, lentils, rye bread, greek yogurt, avocados and salmon.

Sheryl Ann won the right to draw for the marble. She had Juanita draw but she got the green one. There is now a chance of winning $46.

New contest starts next week see Juanita for contest form and pay your $1 entry fee.

Becky Dade reported her sister; Roberta reached her weight goal at a TOPS Chapter in Kansas City area. She lost over 110 lbs to reach her goal.

We closed with our motto. “If It Is To Be IT IS Up To Me.”
