Jean asked the five people who walked in Saturday’s walk/run to please wear their shirts they received next week for a photo.

Robbie announced the Southern Missouri KOPS Society will meet Saturday, Aug. 6, in Springfield.

Robbie is ready to send in the order for the chapter t-shirts.  The chapter is ordering extra for prospective members to get when they join.

Warren had the program today.  He used a program he took from TOPS.Org website.  He started with the Daily Inspiration Calendar found on the web site.  He read some of the daily inspirations and then asked each person to write down one.

Then he gave us a quiz on substitutions.  He said many times you can substitute an ingredient and save a lot of calories and still have the same taste.

1.4 oz of cheddar cheese vs. 4 oz reduced fat cheddar cheese will save you 258 calories

2. 4 oz feta cheese vs. 2 oz feta + 2 oz fat free cottage cheese saves 112 calories

3. 8 oz cream cheese vs. 8 oz fat free cottage cheese saves 400 calories

4. 1 cup sour cream vs. 1 cup fat free sour cream saves 168 calories

5. 1 cup heavy cream vs. 1 cup fat free evaporated milk saves 744 calories

6. 1 cup whole milk vs. 1 cup Fat free milk saves 64 calories

7. 1⁄2 cup oil vs. 1⁄2 cup applesauce saves 925 calories

8. 1⁄2 cup butter vs. 1⁄2 cup applesauce saves 780 calories

9. 1 tablespoon mayonnaise vs. 1 tablespoon lite mayonnaise saves 50 calories

10. 1 lb ground beef vs. 1 lb ground turkey saves 356 calories

11. 1 egg vs. 2 egg whites saves 50 calories

12. 1 cup regular flour vs. 3⁄4 flour and 1⁄4 bran saves 40 calories

Thank you Warren for a very good program.  You showed us how we can save a lot of calories and still cook the same meals.

Judy Knight commented on the Face Book post about the Senoir Center.  They are in need of funds for the meals on wheels.  Please go on face book and like and share if they get 500 likes and shares the local State Farm Agent will donate $500.

Judy made a motion the chapter take up a voluntary collection from the members to donate to the senoir. center and the chapter match the donations from the members.  Tom 2nd motion.  Vote taken and passed.

Please be sure to bring your donation next week to the meeting.

We welcome anyone who is interested in losing weight.  That includes men, women, teenagers, and even children above the age of seven.  We encourage and reward losses even as small as .2 of a pound!  We kid a lot about that awful .2 especially when it is a gain!  We do not shame you if you gain but help you explore what you might do to have a loss the next week.  We have a lot of fun in the process!  Today is the first day of the rest of your life as the saying goes so it is a good day to make a life changing decision.  We often remind ourselves that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.  We are here to help you break the cycle and have fun doing it.  Please consider joining us!
