We said our TOPS & KOPS Pledges
Laura led us in roll call; 17 members weighed in. The chapter had a loss of 9.6 lbs. and a gain of 12.2 with a net Gain of 2.6 lbs.
Best loser for the week was Linda C with a loss of 4.2 lbs. Congratulations Linda C!
Other great losses were: Pat,2.8, and Sue 1.4.
Fred L reported his blood pressure and weight are in the normal range thanks to following the TOPS eating and exercising SENSIBLY plan.
Sharron had the program today. She took her information both from the current copy of TOPS Magazine and from AARP magazine. AARP reports medical advice on weight management tracks along with what TOPS has been advising for years. In addition, it has been found obesity can affect the brain as excess weight reduces the blood flow to the brain. Versions of the Mediterranean Diet are recommended by both TOPS & AARP articles. Focus on FRESH veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds, fish and lean meats. Avoid processed foods as much as possible. Use sugar in moderation and avoid sugar substitutes. Exercise daily for at least 30 minutes per day.
Thank you, Sharron, for a wonderful program
Warren reported on the new contest. The cost is $2 per person to join. The rules are simple; lose weight at each weigh in. KOPS stay below goal. See Warren to join the contest.
Marble game: Laura won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.
Important news: starting June 1, we will meet at a new location. We will meet at the preferred family healthcare building 1402 S. Hwy. 32. Park on the west side of the building and use the west door. We are excited about this move as there will be no stairs and Connie and Rachael will be able to weigh in.
With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto, IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.
It’s weight loss, done right.
